MANGO MATCHA PROTEIN SHAKE

At Club Spirit we have hundreds of recipes which will keep your body and brain, happy and full of healthy antioxidants.

We’re exploring the fantastic health benefits of the Mango Matcha Protein Shake. A quick and easy recipe which is guaranteed to pack a nutritious and hydrating punch.

From this recipe the two ingredients we're looking at the health benefits of are... Flaxseed and Matcha.

Flaxseed is a very versatile ingredient, which can enhance the taste and texture of almost any recipe. It has delicious a mild nutty flavour and is easy to add into your regular recipes for a nutrient boost. We’d recommend adding it into your smoothies, pancake batter, salads or overnight oats, to begin with.

Flaxseeds main health benefits are:

  1. Nutrient rich - It's a good source of many nutrients, including protein, fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, thiamine (A vitamin B which plays a key role in energy metabolism), and copper (which is involved in immune health, and iron metabolism)

  2. Rich in Fiber - There's SO much fiber packed into each tiny seed, meaning regularly eating flaxseed may help promote regular bowel movements and improve digestive health.

  3. Help with weight management - Flaxseed may help you feel full for longer, which may support weight management. A large review of 45 studies found that supplementing with flaxseed resulted in significant reductions in body weight, BMI, and belly fat.

Matcha has become increasingly popular in recent years, most commonly used in teas, coffees and desserts... or in this case smoothies.

Matcha main health benefits are:

  1. Boosts brain function - Studies have shown Matcha can improve attention, memory, and reaction time. It also contains caffeine and L-theanine, which can improve several aspects of brain function.

  2. High in antioxidants - Matcha is rich in catechins, a class of plant compounds in tea that act as natural antioxidants. So including matcha in your diet could increase your antioxidant intake, which in turn may help prevent cell damage.

  3. Supports weight loss - Green tea (Matcha) is well known for its ability to enhance weight loss. In fact, studies show that it may help speed up metabolism to increase energy expenditure and boost fat burning.
